Phillip Alexander

Phillip Alexander began his career in hydraulics at the young age of 18 when he enlisted in the United States Army. His mechanical ability secured him a position as a helicopter crew chief in the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam for 18 months maintaining and repairing helicopters while performing flight missions. From Vietnam he was transferred to a medivac unit in Schweinfurt, Germany where he continued maintaining the fleet and performing medivac missions. Phillip’s return to civilian life led him to a career with an oilfield manufacturing company maintaining and repairing machinery used for manufacturing equipment until the oilfield market crashed in the 1980’s. The job market was bleak when Phillip decided to start his own business repairing and renting hydraulic equipment.
He developed a good reputation in a small town increasing the business to several employees. His two sons enjoyed hanging out at the shop taking things apart and putting them back together learning the skills of the hydraulic trade hanging out with Dad. An opportunity arose for the start of a hydraulic business in the Houston area and Phillip took the risk. His son Jeffrey decided to join him in the adventure and Delta Hydraulics & Service Inc was formed in 2009 on Almeda Genoa Road, Houston, Texas. It didn’t take long to outgrow the small shop, so the business moved to 8421 Industrial Drive, Pearland, Texas which is its current location.
Phillip enjoys deer and dove hunting while seeing and visiting his native state of Texas. He loves his state and the United States of America which he served actively for 4 years in the army during the Vietnam War. His dream has been to own land in the wide regions of West Texas where the jack rabbit and deer roam in John Wayne territory.
Jeffrey Alexander

Jeffrey Alexander grew up with his dad, Phillip Alexander and his brother learning the skills of working with, repairing, and building hydraulic equipment. He became a machinist through the teaching of a friend and employee of the company. Jeffrey learned quickly and understood the mechanics of hydraulic equipment. After graduating from high school, he attended Angelina College and worked with a local automotive dealership until he joined his dad Phillip Alexander in the hydraulic business.
At that time the business specialized in the refurbishing of hydraulic equipment including rebuilding a tensioner and a carousel for loading pipe on board a ship. Jeffrey has been instrumental in the building of Delta Hydraulics & Service rental fleet. Phillip and Jeffrey saw a need for specialized hydraulic power unit rentals and began to build and rent units throughout the United States.
Jeffrey enjoys hunting, fishing, and boating as well as cruising the beach in his jeep. He has been seen on an occasional ski slope when on family vacations. He enjoys the outdoors and has discovered many our nations national parks including Yellowstone National Park as a favorite destination.
Sheryl Alexander

Sheryl Alexander joined Delta Hydraulics & Service Inc as the office manager after retiring from 24 years of teaching junior high and high school English. Using the skills of organization, writing, and communication learned from teaching she has been instrumental in putting together safety manuals and deciphering requirements for different agencies as well as organizing paperwork and keeping records for the family-owned business.
Sheryl enjoys reading and spending time with family in the outdoors. Traveling and exploring the winding roads of the hill country and the mysteries of the planets and stars in the dark sky are a favorite past time.
